Waqaf Board employees, shrine management on toes, Holy Relic to be displayed after Fajr prayers tomorrow, No night-long gathering at shrine

Srinagar, Mar 11: Incessant rains have created slippery conditions in the premises of Hazratbal shrine on the eve of Shab-e-Meraj (SAW), even though no night-long prayers were supposed to be held in the shrine in the wake of Covid. However, the rains have forced the Waqaf Board employees and shrine management to remain on toes to ensure that devotees could see the glimpse if holy relic.

“Though there is no night long gathering at the shrine, but incessant rains have trigger slippery conditions in the premises of the shrine that may create problems for the devotees who would throng the shrine to have the glimpse of holy relic tomorrow morning and for the rest of the day,” a Waqb Board employee told news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO).

He said that entire Shrine management is on toes to ensure that holy relic is displayed to the devotees after Fajr (pre-dawn prayers) and after every prayer of the day tomorrow March 12 and March 13. “We are trying our best to ensure that devotees don’t face any problems and whatever measures are to be taken are being taken. However, due to continuous rainfall, there are slippery conditions in the premises of shrine. We request devotees to take precautions while coming for having the glimpse of holy relic,” the employee said. Pertinently, the Waqaf Board had decided not to hold night long prayers (Shab) at the revered shrine in view of the Covid-19 pandemic.
