Kulgam,January 07, 2021:Kulgam Police arrested a person allegedly involved in molesting and sexually assaulting a minor girl.
Police Station Devsar received a written complaint for assistance from the complainant stating that his daughter of 11 Years of age (name withheld) was confined wrongfully and thereof assaulted sexually by the person namely Abdul Rehman Laway S/O Abdul Aziz Laway R/O Malwan when she was alone at her home.
Acting promptly on the complaint Case FIR No. 03/2021 U/S 342, 376 IPC, 3/4 POCSO Act was registered in Police station Devsar and investigation was set into motion.
Accordingly, a team headed by SHO Devsar Insp. Jazib Mohammed under the supervision of IC DySP PC Kulgam Shri. Aashaq Hussain-JKPS was constituted to trace and nab the culprit.
Utilizing all available means, specific information was generated by the investigating team and the accused person was arrested within one hour after complaint was received in Police Station Devsar.
The minor girl after fulfilling all medico formulaties has been handed over to her legal heirs, accused is behind Bars and further investigation is in progress.
Community members are requested to cooperate with police in curbing crimes.
