Nobody is above law, all those involved in JKCA scam will be brought to book
Can’t give free hand to anyone to loot public money
Srinagar, December 20: The jk spokesperson of Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) Altaf Thakur Sunday said that all those involved in Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association (JKCA) scam will be taken to task in accordance with the law.
Thakur said that his party does not believe in political vendetta and has no role in the attachment of Farooq Abdullah’s assets by Enforcement Directorate (ED).
“Their book value and market value is Rs 11.86 crore 60-70 crore respectively. An honest person cannot purchase assets, costing such a huge amount. It is quite clear that they were purchased from public money,” he added .
‌Thakur maintained, “the funds were alloted by Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI),just for promoting cricket in the erstwhile state of Jammu and Kashmir (J&K).Our youth are talented but they were ignored by people ,who were at the helm of affairs.”
‌
Thakur said time has come to punish one and all, who filled their pockets through fraudulent means .
“Nobody has a right to loot public money.Looters have to face law, no-one will be spared. We had. been demanding the probe since long. The agency’s case is based on an FIR filed by the CBI.It has booked former JKCA office-bearers, including general secretary Mohammed Saleem Khan and former treasurer Ahsan Ahmad Mirza,”he added.
Thakur stated that CBI had also filed a charge sheet in 2018 against Abdullah, Khan, Mirza as well as former JKCA treasurer Mir Manzoor Gazanffer Ali and former accountants Bashir Ahmad Misgar and Gulzar Ahmad Beigh for the “misappropriation of JKCA funds amounting to Rs 43.69 crore from the grants given by BCCI.
