Ganderbal, Dec 20: Jungle smugglers pelted stones on Forest Protection Force after their vehicle loaded with illicit timber was seized in Najwan Kangan area of Central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district.
The incident occurred during pre dawn hours.
An official from Forest Department told News Agency that a team laid naka late night and seized a Tata Mobile (JK01H/9749) vehicle around 3:30 AM that was loaded with illicit timber.
The team managed to seize the vehicle along with timber to the tune of 22cfts despite being subjected to stone pelting by smugglers and their supporters.
The smugglers managed to flee but they have been identified and will be arrested, said the official.
Further investigations has been started and FIR will be registered soon.
